OG image checker — see the real share card
Enter a URL to render its actual share preview for X, Facebook, and LinkedIn — with the og:image really loaded, not just read from the tag — and catch broken, missing, undersized, or badly cropped share images. Or point it at your sitemap and audit every page at once.

What the OG image checker verifies
- The image actually loads — the tag can look perfect while the file 404s. This tool loads the real image, like a social crawler would, and reports the HTTP status, content type, and file size.
- Dimensions & ratio — at least 1200×630 for a sharp large card (200×200 is Facebook's hard minimum), and close to the 1.91:1 ratio X, Facebook, and LinkedIn crop to.
- Tag coverage —
og:image,og:title,og:description, andtwitter:card, with the fallbacks each platform applies when one is missing. - Absolute HTTPS URL — relative or http:// image URLs break on several scrapers even though they work in your browser.
Recommended sizes per platform
One 1200×630 image (ratio 1.91:1, under 5 MB) works everywhere: X renders it as a
summary_large_image card, Facebook and LinkedIn as the full-width
link preview, and Slack and Discord embed it below the message. Facebook accepts images down to
200×200 but renders anything under 600 px wide as a small thumbnail; X requires at least
300×157 for the large card. Declaring og:image:width and
og:image:height lets Facebook render the card correctly on the
very first share, before its crawler has fetched the image.
Auditing a whole sitemap
Switch to Whole sitemap mode and enter your domain (or a
sitemap URL) to audit up to 200 pages in one run. Every page's
og:image and twitter:card are read,
then each unique image is loaded for real — so a share image that 404s across your
whole blog shows up as one red column instead of going unnoticed for months. Missing images,
broken images, and under-sized images are flagged per page, and the whole table exports as CSV.
Both modes run live and store nothing. To watch the social tags on your whole site continuously — and get an email when an OG image breaks after a deploy — try siteOS. Writing tags from scratch? Start with the meta tags previewer & generator or the full meta tags checker.
Catch the broken share image before your audience does.
siteOS checks the social tags on every page of your site on a schedule — and alerts you when an og:image 404s or disappears after a deploy.
